Tulsa Mayor Candidate Anna Falling

To Host News Conference at Tulsa Zoo to Declare

Board Change, Creation Display Addition, Improvements

It has been 4 years since Tulsa’s first ever Judeo-Christian Creation Display was removed by political force from the Zoo even before it ever made it on the wall.

Under Mayor Bill LaFortune, the Tulsa Zoo board first voted to accept local Christian Dan Hick’s Biblical Creation Display (to be displayed at the news conference), especially since the Zoo already featured a Hindu god and the stories of other gods.  Then, after Dan and his family spent their own money to build the display, 50 people spoke out against having the creation view of the Bible in the Zoo.  The Zoo board feared the people and changed their vote, ridiculing Dan, his faith, and his display.

The display has been since hanging at Tulsa Bible Church for 4 years waiting for someone to pick up the cause again.

This Tuesday (Aug 11) from 4-4:25 p.m., Anna Falling and dozens of supporters will come to the Tulsa Zoo to stand for this display to honor God and recognize the Christian roots of Tulsa.

 PLEASE:

Support this effort, leave your comments below.  We also want to know if you can attend the rally.

why would anyone be offended by the “creation exhibit”? I think, if they don’t believe the Holy Bible and what we know as the “gospel of the good news”,
then don’t study it- but please don’t get offended at
our wanting to display this beautiful picture of Genesis.

Thanks Marcia. Everyone has the freedom to express their beliefs, especially since the zoo is already hosting several other religious viewpoints and this piece is so beautiful.

      Hi Anna,

I applaud what your are doing and I would love to attend, however, I have a date with our Lord in Adoration from 3-4 pm today.
I will pray for your effort.
To have someone “running” for political office and not be afraid to confirm one’s belief and trust in God, is so refreshing and deserved the support of all of us who believe in one God!!!!!

    Anna,
I’m guessing you have read the article at the ktul channel 8 local news website…ZOO FACING FUNDING ISSUES: What are some of the issues: funding; some of the zoo’s beloved animals have now passed away; Besides aging problem with the animals and alot of them gone they are faced with aging facilities. The low lands exhibit needs a major facelift.
Why do I bring this up? Well, the absent of light you have darkness. The absent of life you have death. Where there is no honor there is dishonor.
When you take life out of something it will die. When you remove light from something you will have total darkness in it, no direction, no future, no hope…..
God is light and He is life. With your actions when you remove something that displays Himself you are stepping away from Who He is, light and life. You are rejecting life and the light of Who He is is removed, you moved into darkness. In this darkness there is no direction, wisdom, no prosperity.
What we’re doing today we’re saying to God who created all things and said it was good, …..YES GOD WE WILL HONOR YOU. We will ackowledge you as our creator of all things. and display the biblical creation display for all to see because WE WANT YOUR LIFE OF BEAUTY BACK IN OUR ZOO and further more in our city!!!!!
Just as they stated in this article, about a major facelift, let’s all do a major facelift toward our only True God Who Created ALL THINGS and honor Him back in our Tulsa Zoo by saying Yes to the Judeo-Christian Creation Display.

It is so refreshing to see someone take a “stand” for the beliefs that our country was founded on. It is up to “us” to help preserve our nation and our faiths for the generations to come. If we don’t do it NOW….”who” will do it and “when”?

Bless you for your stand. I live in Dallas and cannot be there, but will be praying for your event!

This country wasn’t founded upon christianity. It was founded on freedom of religion. Just because you have a boogeyman named Jesus under your bed doesn’t mean everyone believes your hoakum. Keep your religion out of our public areas. Worship all you want at home, and in your churches, but leave it out of politics.

“The blessed Religion revealed in the word of God will remain an eternal and awful monument to prove that the best Institutions may be abused by human depravity; and that they may even, in some instances, be made subservient to the vilest of purposes.” – George Washington, founder of our country.

The Washington quotation is bogus. Read below:

“Washington is known to have made some official statements of public piety, but this is not one of them. Though this assertion is very widely reported to have been said in Washington’s Farewell Address (17 September 1796), this is not actually the case, as any search of the documents would reveal. It has also been presented as having been part of his Proclamation on 1795-JAN-01 of 1795-FEB-19 as a day of national Thanksgiving in this form:

“It is in an especial manner our duty as a people, with devout reverence and affectionate gratitude, to acknowledge our many and great obligations to Almighty God, and to implore Him to continue and confirm the blessings we experienced. It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible. It is impossible to account for the creation of the universe, without the agency of a Supreme Being. It is impossible to govern the universe without the aid of a Supreme Being. It is impossible to reason without arriving at a Supreme Being. Religion is as necessary to reason, as reason is to religion. The one cannot exist without the other. A reasoning being would lose his reason, in attempting to account for the great phenomena of nature, had he not a Supreme Being to refer to.”

In the above paragraph the [bracketed] italicized portion appears to be entirely bogus, and there is no actual record of such a statement ever having been made by Washington.”

If you don’t believe this source, look up the originals yourself and see if the quotation is there.

Hi, Anna, I hope you wouldn’t mind answering some questions.

    What exactly is the display?
How will the display connect to animals, the environment, or the importance of nature?
Why is the display a priority?
If you were mayor, would you support a non-Christian display at the zoo?

Also, I’d like to ask for your personal opinion on some controversial issues.

Do you believe America is a Christian nation?
If so, what place do non-Christians have in America?
If not, what are the rights of religious groups in general? In government?

Thank you for your time and effort in answering my questions.
