A Note From Anna

Well, it’s been an interesting 48 hours to say the least. I’d like to thank those who have participated – through visits to our site, comments, e-mails and phone calls. And I thought now would be a good time to expound on my recent statements, and how some are interpreting them.

The mission of the church is to care for the people of this community and as Mayor I would welcome that mission. It is not to debate church and state, constitutions or politics, but to “bring life and bring it more abundantly.”  I want to celebrate the church for the work she has done, is doing and will continue to do long past this debate.

And as mayor, I want the churches involved in our community, working with government. The First Amendment never mentions the words “separation,” “church,” or “state.”

Our city is on the verge of collapse: spiritually, morally and financially. We are at a crossroads. And I have decided my campaign will focus on the scripture at the bottom of this post. Continue reading

Thank You

Wow!  What a great turn-out for the Zoo Rally yesterday despite the heat. Thank you for coming; thank you for not being deterred to stand for Truth.

The zoo is just one example where God has been dishonored. We have all observed other areas in our city where He is dishonored as well. Why is it we have no problem allowing in anything and everything except God?

I want to thank my supporters for your willingness to speak and stand for what you believe in.  I was humbled by your presence and look forward to a new day in Tulsa where we return to the roots of our nation and city’s foundation.

Without God, our great city will continue to experience nearly twice the national average in violent crime. We will continue to see police intervene in our schools to the tune of 9,000 incidents over the last 4 years.  We have all witnessed what happens in our cities when God is rejected.

Unless God builds our house it will be in vain. No amount of street repair, police on the streets and bigger, fancier buildings will change the heart of the people.  Unless we call upon God, our land will not be healed.

I stand firm on Seeking First God’s Kingdom and His Righteousness and then, all these things will be added .  Our City and our Nation is at a crossroads. We must decide where our help will come from.

As the comments posted throughout the site today suggest, there are many view points on this issue. Yet we will not be deterred for putting God first in all things. And yes, that means before streets and crime and budgets; because if we don’t put God first, then nothing else matters. Without God, nothing will be “fixed.” .

Thank you again for your prayers as we proceed to bring God back to our seat of government. As George Washington stated on Feb. 22, 1732, “It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible”

Update: Editor’s note: We would like to thank the dozens of commentors who pointed out the error concerning the date regarding George Washington’s statement. As they so kindly noted, Washington was born on that date, so it would be rather difficult for him to make such a statement. The error was due to transposing some dates in a final draft, and we apologize.

Tulsa Mayor Candidate Anna Falling

To Host News Conference at Tulsa Zoo to Declare

Board Change, Creation Display Addition, Improvements

It has been 4 years since Tulsa’s first ever Judeo-Christian Creation Display was removed by political force from the Zoo even before it ever made it on the wall.

Under Mayor Bill LaFortune, the Tulsa Zoo board first voted to accept local Christian Dan Hick’s Biblical Creation Display (to be displayed at the news conference), especially since the Zoo already featured a Hindu god and the stories of other gods.  Then, after Dan and his family spent their own money to build the display, 50 people spoke out against having the creation view of the Bible in the Zoo.  The Zoo board feared the people and changed their vote, ridiculing Dan, his faith, and his display.

 The display has been since hanging at Tulsa Bible Church for 4 years waiting for someone to pick up the cause again.

 This Tuesday (Aug 11) from 4-4:25 p.m., Anna Falling and dozens of supporters will come to the Tulsa Zoo to stand for this display to honor God and recognize the Christian roots of Tulsa.

 PLEASE:

Support this effort, leave your comments below.  We also want to know if you can attend the rally.

Families – A Key Foundation Of Our Community

Over the next few days and weeks I will be discussing Isaiah 58: 6-12, not necessarily verse by verse but as a whole; focusing on how it pertains to this community and in particular the platform I am focusing on for this Mayor’s race.

“Is this not the kind of fasting I have chosen … and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?” Is 58: 7

I have been so blessed with a heritage of a healthy foundation of family and faith with grandparents, uncles, aunts and parents living this out through the example of sacrifice, fulfillment and dedication.

This week I am having the bittersweet opportunity to fellowship with one of my dearest aunts – my precious mother’s sister who is 5 years her elder.  She has now been diagnosed with a similar cancer as my mother, which overtook my mother in less than 3 months – 4 years ago June.

When I have asked the question why this happens to good people – I have received a haunting answer – the people of this world do not value the life they have been given. Continue reading

Our Campaign’s Scriptural Platform

I have chosen a book from the Old Testament – Isaiah – as our scriptural focus during this campaign for Tulsa’s mayoral seat. We intend to use these scriptures as our platform base as we work to Transform Tulsa Together.

Specifically, we are focusing on the 58th chapter, verses 6-12:

Isaiah 58:6-12 (New International Version)

6 “Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
to loose the chains of injustice
and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free
and break every yoke?

7 Is it not to share your food with the hungry
and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—
when you see the naked, to clothe him,
and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?

8 Then your light will break forth like the dawn,
and your healing will quickly appear;
then your righteousness [a] will go before you,
and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.

9 Then you will call, and the LORD will answer;
you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.
“If you do away with the yoke of oppression,
with the pointing finger and malicious talk,

10 and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry
and satisfy the needs of the oppressed,
then your light will rise in the darkness,
and your night will become like the noonday.

11 The LORD will guide you always;
he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land
and will strengthen your frame.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
like a spring whose waters never fail.

12 Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins
and will raise up the age-old foundations;
you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls,
Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.
