Anna’s Prepared Remarks At The Zoo Rally

Today we stand here on a balmy summer day in Tulsa, Ok – for some like my daughter it is the first day of school.  Thank you for being here.

We hold these truths to be self evident that we were endowed by our Creator  …

It is as if this Truth is no longer self-evident –

Unless we line everything up to the way the Creator intended it to be – it will be broken.  We must declare today just as our forefathers did with the Declaration that our Creator had and has a plan before the foundation of this earth for you and me for such a time as this.

Over 200 years ago our forefathers were at a cross roads as they wrote the foundation document of our nation.  They were unable to agree upon the direction and old Ben Franklin stood to address the Constitutional Congress asking them to call upon their Creator and Divine Providence just as they did during the Revolutionary War; not forgetting Him as they designed what was to become one of the most powerful documents outside of scripture.  Prayer began that day prior to all meetings in order to move ahead according to the Creator’s plans so our nation will not be broken.  Continue reading

Families – A Key Foundation Of Our Community

Over the next few days and weeks I will be discussing Isaiah 58: 6-12, not necessarily verse by verse but as a whole; focusing on how it pertains to this community and in particular the platform I am focusing on for this Mayor’s race.

“Is this not the kind of fasting I have chosen … and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?” Is 58: 7

I have been so blessed with a heritage of a healthy foundation of family and faith with grandparents, uncles, aunts and parents living this out through the example of sacrifice, fulfillment and dedication.

This week I am having the bittersweet opportunity to fellowship with one of my dearest aunts – my precious mother’s sister who is 5 years her elder.  She has now been diagnosed with a similar cancer as my mother, which overtook my mother in less than 3 months – 4 years ago June.

When I have asked the question why this happens to good people – I have received a haunting answer – the people of this world do not value the life they have been given. Continue reading

Anna Launches Mayoral Campaign to Activate Tulsa’s Churches in Community’s Root Challenges

“Statistics are now showing us that when a child is raised in a broken home,” says Anna Falling, “His chances are much greater to grow up to commit crimes, end up in the criminal justice system, and cost taxpayers more than $1 million dollars over the years in police costs, jail costs, welfare and food stamps, and eventually disability costs. Now multiply that by thousands of growing children who are suffering from worse conditions of crime and poverty, and then multiply that by the annual growing rate of crime and incarceration, and you can see why each year the budgets on the City, State and National levels can no longer can handle the core problems of the community.”

“Streets, community infrastructure and job creation efforts all will continue to lose the funding needed each year because of the spiraling crime and poverty costs.”

Standing in front of the ministry she and her husband founded in 1996, Falling said the growth of Cornerstone Assistance Network to serve hundreds of area churches to provide more than 161,000 acts of assistance, is the kind of movement that must be done now on the City of Tulsa level. Anna Hosts News Conference To Discuss Core Challenges Facing Tulsa

Taking what she has done for nearly a decade and a half – equipping churches to transform lives from poverty to purpose – Anna Falling will announce her intention tomorrow to take that vision to the City of Tulsa to combat problems that have plagued the core of Tulsa for decades.

Saying that it is no longer an option, Anna Falling will communicate that a change must take place to empower the churches of this city, along with other community organizations, to overcome issues that have resulted in greater crime rates, higher government costs, and band-aid decisions that have exasperated problems even worse decade by decade.  The City’s budget can no longer sustain the problems of this city and the people’s remaining wellness cannot continue without a foundational core change in the way our issues are addressed.  The City of Tulsa must facilitate congregations of this community to play an official and significant role in transforming our underlying social ills.
